#2 Skyline Raiders (11-0 / 7-0 in 9-5A) – Skyline has run over its competition this year en route to an undefeated record. Their average margin of victory has been by 38 points, however, their schedule is no where near as tough as Desoto’s. Skyline quarterback Javia Hall has played mistake free football, throwing for 27 touchdowns wihtout throwing an interceptions on the season, and he leads a balanced Raiders offense that averages 286 yards rushing and 206 yards passing per contest.

#5 DeSoto Eagles (9-2 / 4-1 in 11-5A) – Desoto hopes their tough schedule, which featured road games against Cedar Hill, Flower Mound and John Tyler, will pay dividends for their area round playoff game Saturday night against second ranked Skyline. The Eagles two losses have been by a combined four points to a pair of teams in the top 11 in the state according to the AP state football rankings. Desoto is led by their own version of the triplets with Ryan Polite at quarterback, Marcus Murphy at running back and Darrius Terrell at wide receiver. The Eagles are averaging 43.4 points per game, but that will be tested by a Skyline defense which is giving up just over 10 points a game.
