Marcus Marauders (7-3 / 3-2 in 6-5A) – The second season is in full effect, and Dallas Cowboys Stadium will be rocking this Saturday. The Marcus Marauders will take on the top ranked Cedar Hill Longhorns at 2pm in the second of three games on Champion Sports Radio. Thunderous tailback Stephen Hopkins leads the Marauder offense with over 1,200 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns on the season. Hopkins is dynamic with the ball in his hands and has committed to attend the University of Michigan. He’s rushed for 100 yards seven times this season and the Marauders will need a big game from him as they are 1-2 when he doesn’t reach the 100 yard plateau. Fellow ball carrier Rufus Mason has contributed with nearly 700 rushing yards and 11 scores on the season, and quarterback Brode Boyd does a nice job of managing the game for head coach Bryan Erwin. The Marauders bring in a 3-game winning streak including a 30 point victory over Grapevine last week.

#1 Cedar Hill Longhorns (11-0 / 6-0 in 7-5A) – Week in and week out the Longhorns have proven that the hype and accolades are well deserved. No one in the state of Texas has a backfield as potent as Cedar Hill with starting backs Mason Hayes and Ben Malena combining for 30 touchdowns in 11 games. Malena averages over 7 yards per carry while Hayes has rushed for over 1,600 yards. Both backs run with authority, and Hayes has eight consecutive games with over 100 yards rushing. The story doesn’t stop with the running game though as junior signal caller Driphus Jackson has 13 touchdown tosses and 1,260 yards passing. Coach McGuire has plenty of options in the backfield but with both teams showcasing dominate running games this one will be won in the trenches. Which offensive line will open the big holes and which defense will stuff the ball carriers? Listen to find out.
